When are you Available?

On Sunday, October 13, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m\, Bolinas Road will become "car free" between Broadway and Elsie Lane.  There will be a youth music showcase, a clothing swap, games and crafts in the street, dancing, shopping, outdoor dining and lots more.  Don't miss this car free Sunday!  Please walk, bike or car pool to the event. Sponsored by the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce, Sustainable Fairfax, the Town of Fairfax.

Please contact JenniferH@sustainablefairfax.org with any questions.

Set up: Come join us set up tables, umbrellas and chairs!  We will meet on Bolinas Street for about 1.5 hours.

Bike Valet: This is an important service to incentivize people to leave their cars at home and ride their bikes!  This will help keep traffic and parking congestion down. We need help securing, parking and retrieving the bikes.

Pure Water Bar:  Help people keep their water bottles full! US Pure Water is donating this water bar for the event, and we need volunteers to staff it.

Clothing Swap:  We are inviting the community to bring their unwanted “gently used” clothes and to take home some finds!  We need help managing the incoming clothes and helping attendees.

Zero Waste Station: Educate the public about green waste, recycling, bioplastics and our landfill. No experience necessary.  We’ll teach you on the spot.  As event participants come by to throw out their ‘trash’ you will be able to tell them where it goes and why.

Breakdown: After the event is over the party is not done. Come join the Streets for People crew breakdown the event.  We’ll be putting away, tents, tables and chairs.  It will be a quick job because we have to open the street back up to cars at 5pm.
